STUDENT MINISTRY
We care deeply about the spiritual formation of our students at Chatham UMC.
Junior High & High School Students are invited to engage in our disciple-growing programs.
Youth Group at Chatham UMC
We are thrilled to be partnering with Springfield First UMC for ministries with students in 6th - 12th grades.
Every Sunday night we gather with the student ministry group at Springfield First UMC for a time of worship music, a message, small groups, food and fun. Dinner is served every week. Our Youth and Children's Minister (Natalie Morey) will co-lead with Springfield First's student ministry lead, Sydney Pappas.
Youth Group is Sundays from 5:00 - 7:00 pm.
We even help with rides to and from Springfield First.
We leave Chatham UMC at 4:30 and return by 7:30.
Simply text Miriam to let her know that you want a ride before Sunday (217-390-9964).
We will give students a heads up when there are special events at either Chatham UMC or Springfield First.

Confirmation
Confirmation is designed to engage students in 7th, 8th and 9th grade as they prepare to become full and vital participants in the life and ministry of Chatham UMC. Confirmation provides students with learning, mission and service opportunities, field trips, and experiences that challenge them to grow in faith and in life.
Our next confirmation experience will begin in 2024.
Meet Natalie Morey,
our Children and Youth Ministry Coordinator
Natalie recently graduated (2023) with an undergraduate degree in Youth and Family Ministry from Lincoln Christian University. She is now in her first year of seminary at United Theological Seminary, a United Methodist Seminary in Dayton, OH. Natalie will continue working with us at CUMC while pursuing a Master of Divinity Degree.
Natalie started with CUMC in March of 2022 and is working to establish multigenerational youth and childrens ministry programs at CUMC. She has already accomplished a lot with us! She's loves getting to know our wonderful kids through Sunday school and other activities.
The school year is going to be full of opportunties for kids and youth to engage their faith and to grow relationships in the church.
Kids Quest will meet twice a month and youth group with partner church Springfield First will happen every week. We also have service opportunities and retreats planned for their engagement this year!
We invite your little kids to get involved. We invite your middle and high school students to get involved. We invite all of you to get involved in this exciting area of ministry at Chatham UMC.
