Kids Ministry

Kids Quest 2nd-6th grade Kids Ministry

Our new children and youth ministry coordinator, Natalie Morey, created this special new program just for kids in grades 2 through 6. We don't desire to simply grow a ministry program, it is our desire to nurture our young people into maturing young disciples of Jesus Christ. Natalie has a vision for developing young leaders that are first followers of Jesus Christ.  Kids are invited to join the quest to know Jesus and to grow into the young person God has called them to be.

Kids Quest meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.

The current schedule for Kids Quest  is July 6th, 20th & 27th, August 3rd & 10th

Elementary Sunday School @ Chatham UMC

It is our hope that elementary-aged kids will join the gathered community for worship at Chatham UMC at 9:00 am.

We love having kids in worship and want to make sure that kids know that this is a church where they belong.

There are activities for children to the right of the main entrance to the sanctuary. If your kids draw pictures and leave them on the clip boards after worship – we include them in our mailings to our homebound members.

Sunday School: 10:10 am

There are two options for elementary-aged kids during the Sunday morning Christian Education Hour at Chatham UMC

Kindergarten – 2nd Grade: Room #D1 (downstairs and to the immediate left)

Young elementary students will join teachers Roberta Floyd, Dena Sale & Mary Kay Austiff for engaging Bible lessons & creative crafts each Sunday morning.

3rd – 6th Grade: Room #D5 (downstairs and turn left into the hall)

Older elementary-aged kids will join teachers Erik and Shandi Chapman, Natalie Morey and Kimberly Burkwald and helpers for Bible study, activities, crafts and more.

Meet Natalie Morey,

our Children & Youth Ministry Coordinator

Natalie recently graduated (2023) with an undergraduate degree in Youth and Family Ministry from Lincoln Christian University. She is now in her first year of seminary at United Theological Seminary, a United Methodist Seminary in Dayton, OH.  Natalie will continue working with us at CUMC while pursuing a Master of Divinity Degree.

Natalie started with CUMC in March of 2022 and is working to establish multigenerational youth and childrens ministry programs at CUMC.   She has already accomplished a lot with us!  She's loves getting to know our wonderful kids through Sunday school and other activities.

The school year is going to be full of opportunties for kids and youth to engage their faith and to grow relationships in the church.

Kids Quest will meet twice a month and youth group with partner church Springfield First will happen every week. We also have service opportunities and retreats planned for their engagement this year!

We invite your little kids to get involved. We invite your middle and high school students to get involved. We invite all of you to get involved in this exciting area of ministry at Chatham UMC.
